First 36SE on Seascape Edition Sam Manuard -suunnitellusta First 36 -mallista, optimoitu ORC-tyyliseen suorituskykyyn painonpudotuksen ja hydrodynaamisten parannusten avulla. Rungon uudelleen muotoiltua etuosaa ja vähennettyä vedenalaista pintaa kehitettiin yhteistyössä Manuard ja Cossuttin kanssa tuulenvaran edistämiseksi, samalla kun siirryttiin hiilikuitumasto ja lyhyempi T-muotoinen valurautainen köli auttaa tasapainottamaan oikeuttavan hetken matalammalla syväystä.
Runko, ulokkeet ja rakenne
Keskeisiä rakenteellisia valintoja ovat tyhjiöinfuusioitu vinyyliesterilaminaatti ja Corecell-vaahtoydin. Rungon muoto on tunnistettavissa alkuperäisestä First 36:sta, mutta siinä on pidempi keulaprofiili enemmän upotettua tilavuutta ja maltillinen leveys 3,8 m perään, ja litteämmät peräosat kannustamaan liukua. Ajella karkeasti 400kg Standardimalliin verrattuna SE-versiössä lämminhenkinen puuverhoiltu salongin sijaan on vaahtoydinsidokomposiitteja ja pelkistetty sisustus. Pohjaratkaisu pysyy samana: kolme hyttekkiä, salonki, keittiö ja WC, mutta etummainen hytti toimii purjeiden säilytystilana kilpakäyttöön. Sloveniassa tehdyssä testissä, jossa tuuli oli 12–16 solmua ja meri aaltoileva, First 36SE osoitti selvää mieltymystä luovimiseen ja myötäiseen.
